Job Title: Wireline Operator
Location: KSA/UAE/Africa
Reports to: Field Supervisor / Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The Wireline Operator will operate wireline equipment to deploy tools and instruments in oil and gas wells. The operator will work closely with engineers and other crew members to gather well data, perform well maintenance, and carry out perforation operations. The role requires ensuring the safe and efficient use of wireline equipment and adherence to company policies, regulations, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation: Set up and operate wireline equipment to deploy tools and sensors in oil and gas wells for data acquisition, perforation, or intervention.
- Tool Maintenance and Calibration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate wireline tools and equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly and ready for operation.
- Data Collection: Collect and transmit real-time well data, including depth, pressure, temperature, and formation properties, for analysis by geologists and engineers.
- Perforation and Logging: Perform wireline logging and perforation operations to support well production, completion, and intervention.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and company protocols, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in accordance with relevant regulations (e.g., OSHA, API, HSE guidelines).
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate reports, logs, and documentation related to operations, equipment usage, and safety.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with field supervisors, engineers, and other team members to execute jobs effectively and efficiently.
- Rig Up/Rig Down: Assist with rigging up and rigging down equipment at the well site, ensuring proper assembly and disassembly in a timely manner.
- Travel: Be available for travel to various job locations, often for extended periods, as required by project demands.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly and efficiently to any well control emergencies or operational issues in a high-pressure environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in oilfield services or mechanical fields is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in wireline operations, well logging, or related oilfield services preferred.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with wireline tools, electronic instruments, and data logging systems. Ability to operate mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy equipment and working in extreme weather conditions.
- Certifications: H2S certification, well control certification, and any other relevant certifications preferred.
- Driver’s License: Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and clients.
