Job Description

Leap29 are supporting a leading client in the data centre sector who are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of a major data centre project in Norway. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day site activities across all phases of the project.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site execution to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress against programme milestones and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and oversee quality control throughout construction.
  • Chair daily and weekly site coordination meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve site issues, delays, and technical challenges in collaboration with the project team.
  • Review site documentation, progress reports, and work schedules.
  • Support commissioning and handover activities to ensure a smooth transition to the client.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale construction, industrial, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work packages on site.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project planning, and site logistics.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety legislation and quality management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client, contractor, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Previous experience working on data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, energy, or industrial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of MEP installation and commissioning processes.
  • Experience working on fast-paced EPC or turnkey construction projects.
  • Norwegian language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
