Job Description

Senior Project Manager 
 
Leap29 is partnering with a leading Solar PV development firm operating across European markets. They are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Lyon, responsible for managing the development of solar PV projects across France from origination through to RTB.
In this role, the Senior PM will collaborate closely with regional teams, industry partners, and key stakeholders to expand the project pipeline and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solar assets.
 
Responsibilities
Lead the development of solar PV projects across France from origination through to Ready-to-Build.
Identify and secure new opportunities via greenfield development, co-development, and acquisitions.
Contribute to the national development strategy to support pipeline growth with technically and economically viable projects.
Manage project planning, budgeting, and risk assessments while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, permitting requirements, and technical standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with public authorities, municipalities, landowners, and local stakeholders.
Submit and follow up on all administrative authorizations and environmental assessments.
Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants including legal, technical, tax, and insurance advisors.
Oversee feasibility studies and technical design in collaboration with engineering teams.
Maintain regular reporting on project status, timelines, and financials.
Monitor developments in solar technologies, regulations, and market trends, and represent the company at industry events and exhibitions.
 
Requirements
5+ years’ proven experience managing solar PV projects in France from early-stage development to Ready-to-Build.
Strong knowledge of French permitting processes, regulatory frameworks, and grid connection requirements.
Experience working with external stakeholders including local authorities, landowners, and service providers.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
A background in engineering, energy, or a related technical field is preferred.
