Migration to AWS Support – Oracle DBA

Location: Remote
Contract – 6 months (Extension)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with strong AWS RDS expertise to support a major cloud migration project. You will be responsible for lifting and shifting an Oracle Database from AWS VMware to an Oracle DB on EC2, addressing technical debt, and potentially upgrading from Oracle 19c to a newer version. The team is also evaluating a shift to AWS RDS, making deep cloud knowledge and database management essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate an Oracle Database from AWS VMware to EC2 and potentially to AWS RDS
• Remediate database technical debt and optimize performance
• Upgrade Oracle 19c to the latest stable version (if required)
• Set up, configure, and maintain AWS RDS and EC2 instances
• Ensure security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures are in place
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues

Key Requirements:

• Strong Oracle DBA experience with Oracle 19c (or later versions)
• Hands-on expertise with AWS RDS, AWS EC2, and AWS VMware
• Experience in cloud migration and lift-and-shift projects
• Ability to tune databases, optimize performance, and manage security
• Familiarity with disaster recovery, backup solutions, and high availability
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
