About the Role

We are supporting a multinational manufacturer on a specialised office-to-lab conversion project. We’re looking for a hands-on, early-career Project Engineer who has worked in design and construction environments, ideally with exposure to laboratory or technical facility design. In this role, you will support the coordination of Civil and Electrical works throughout design, execution, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the technical coordination of Civil and Electrical engineering scopes during the lab fit-out.
  • Assist with design reviews, ensuring electrical and utilities designs integrate effectively with lab requirements.
  • Oversee site activities including demolition, structural alterations, partitioning, flooring/ceiling works, and M&E tie-ins.
  • Review electrical drawings (power, lighting, earthing, fire alarm, data/comm) and raise technical queries where needed.
  • Work closely with architects, lab planners, MEP consultants, and contractors to resolve interface issues.
  • Support management of RFIs, permits to work, method statements, and safety documentation.
  • Ensure works comply with Singapore regulations (BCA, SCDF, EMA).
  • Assist with installation, commissioning and qualification of laboratory systems including power, HVAC, fume hoods and safety systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to technical reporting.

Experience & Skills (Must-Haves)

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years’ experience in Electrical engineering, Commissioning & Qualification, or design and construction project environments.
  • Experience supporting design or construction projects; lab design or technical fit-out experience is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination skills working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of Singapore building, fire safety and electrical regulations (BCA, SCDF, EMA).
  • Proactive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work with contractors and client stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in laboratory, R&D, cleanroom or life sciences facility projects.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom classifications, lab ventilation, or regulated industry commissioning.
  • Certifications such as PMP or relevant Singapore safety courses.
