Power Origination Manager – Data Centers
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Power Origination Manager, Specialist to lead power origination activities that support large-scale data center development. This role focuses on identifying interconnection opportunities, negotiating power supply agreements, and ensuring projects are aligned with our long-term growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power markets, utilities, and regulatory compliance, with proven expertise in managing complex energy supply arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with electric utilities, RTOs, and ISOs to identify new opportunities.
- Drive large-load interconnection opportunities for data center projects.
- Negotiate and secure competitive power supply agreements and interconnection contracts.
- Monitor and analyze energy market trends to guide strategy and procurement decisions.
- Partner with internal teams—engineering, legal, finance, and development—to integrate power origination into overall project planning.
- Assess grid infrastructure, interconnection capacity, and transmission availability to optimize project outcomes.
- Ensure all regulatory, compliance, and contractual requirements are met.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and professional networks to advance market presence.
- Provide expert insights on energy pricing, market dynamics, and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or a related discipline (advanced degree a plus).
- Extensive experience in power origination, utility relations, or energy market development.
- In-depth knowledge of interconnection processes, transmission planning, and power market structures.
- Strong track record of negotiating and executing power supply agreements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Effective communicator with strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
