PCS7 Automation Engineer



1. Job Summary – highlight project details/what is exciting about the role :

The PCS7 Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery of Siemens PCS7 systems on site. He/she will participate in the development and implementation of Automation solutions in line with S88 standards for the plant.


2. Key Responsibilities – list what the person will be doing on a day to day basis:

  • Develop and/or review System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables, compliant with the sites standards.
  • The Automation Engineers will ensure technical alignment between the Areas in the Automation project by defining, describing and communicating design and code standards and participate in design reviews, model reviews, etc., and to input on technical elements of the design.
  • The Automation Engineers will also co-ordinate the execution of the Automation software and hardware to ensure alignment with the project schedule to enable FAT, on-site SATs, commissioning and validation of the process systems to meet the overall project schedule.
  • Works closely together with the other Automation Engineers on the CTS Team and Client Team to ensure deliverables are commissioned in time for the different milestones throughout the duration of project.
  • Works closely together with the established site Automation Engineers to ensure the defined standards are followed consistently in the project and the library modules are used as intended.



Essential Skills:


  • Min. of 4 yearsexperience in the pharma environment delivering Automation commissioning/start-up.
  • Experience with DCS systems (Siemens PCS7 batch)
  • Systems platform experience of Siemens PCS7, TIA Portal is essential
  • Understanding of batch process and Pharma Domain
  • Excellent communication and customer orientation skills
  • Good analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industry experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with GAMP lifecycle and quality management processes employed in the pharmaceutical sector
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Has a deep process understanding of production processes used like upstream, downstream processes or CIP, and/or has a deep knowledge of automation system architectures


Nice to Have Skills.


  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in the use of the following Microsoft tools: Excel, SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).



Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Automation or Bio Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science.
