Renewable Energy | Solar PV & BESS | Milan (Flexible location)
Leap29 is supporting a high-growth renewable energy company in Milan, backed by a major UK energy group. We are seeking an M&A Manager to support the acquisition, financial evaluation, and investment analysis of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Italy.
The role sits within a lean and fast-moving team and offers hands-on exposure to transactions from origination through to investment decision and execution. The company operates a highly flexible working model, with typically one day per week in the Milan office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support M&A and investment activities for renewable energy assets across Italy
- Build, maintain, and review financial models for:
- Utility-scale Solar PV projects
- BESS opportunities
- Greenfield and brownfield assets
- Perform valuation and investment analysis for asset and portfolio acquisitions
- Support transaction execution
- Prepare investment committee materials, internal memos, and presentations
- Support portfolio refinancing and optimisation activities where required
- Work closely with development, business development, and finance teams
- Coordinate with external advisors during transaction processes
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in renewable energy investment, M&A, or project finance
- Strong experience within the Italian renewable energy market
- Proven exposure to Solar PV transactions; BESS experience is highly desirable
- Solid financial modelling, valuation, and investment analysis skills
- Experience supporting asset acquisitions and transaction processes
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- CFA qualification or progress towards CFA is a plus
- Fluent Italian and professional working proficiency in English
- Comfortable working in a start up, fast-paced, and hands-on environment
