Job Description

Principal Safety Engineer 

We are currently seeking a Principal Safety Engineer to work on a large-scale project. The role requires providing technical advice, managing and producing Safety Engineering activities and 
deliverables, and leading a small team of Safety Engineers.

Key Responsibilities 
• Demonstrate leadership skills in Safety Engineering with the ability to handle complex multi office projects. 
• Carry responsibility for project success and provide strong direction for the team. 
• Plan and manage work, including financial aspects such as man-hour estimates and margin goals. Ensure effective management of change. 
• Understand the project business case and reflect this in the work environment, focusing on productivity, schedule, work-hour control, and innovation. 
• Be involved in the development and implementation of activities using the latest technology and methods to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. 
• Take personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on projects, demonstrating this by example. 
• Work efficiently as part of a team with project management and other disciplines. 
• Exhibit excellent communication and coordination skills, both verbal and written. 

Technical Experience and Skills 
For the role of Principal Safety Engineer, significant technical experience and skills are required in the following areas: 
• Process Safety Studies (e.g., HAZOP and LOPA) 
• Hazardous Area Classification 

Preferred Experience 
• Ability to check the deliverables produced by the team. 
• Demonstrate a proactive and pragmatic mentality. 
• Experience in work cooperation with remote offices (work sharing concept). 
• Real team player within the Safety Engineering team and in cooperation with other departments. 
• Take ownership of the scope, budget, and schedule. 
• Ability to work independently and report to the project engineer/manager or overall Lead Engineer.
