Instrumentation & Telecoms Engineer

Location: Multiple Locations in Norway (Flexible)

Contract Type: 12-Month Initial Contract

Start Date: Flexible (Based on Notice Period)

Renowned for their innovative solutions and commitment to excellence, they are seeking a highly motivated Instrumentation & Telecoms Engineer with subsea expertise to join their team. With a busy project order book for 2025 and beyond, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects in the subsea industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

System Design: Develop instrumentation and telecoms designs for subsea systems, including control networks, communication systems, and field instrumentation layouts.

Integration: Ensure seamless integration of telecoms and instrumentation systems with other subsea equipment and platforms.

Testing & Validation: Support testing, configuration, and commissioning activities for instrumentation and telecoms systems to ensure reliable operation.

Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for complex instrumentation and telecom challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to applicable industry standards, such as IEC, API, DNV, and telecom-specific regulations, as well as internal HSE and quality guidelines.

Documentation: Prepare and review technical documents, including functional design specifications, wiring diagrams, and system architecture.

Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

Experience:

A strong background in instrumentation and telecom engineering within the subsea or offshore sector, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Proven expertise in designing and implementing systems such as subsea communication networks, fiber optics, instrumentation loops, and remote monitoring systems.

Proficiency in design and configuration tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar).

Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for subsea instrumentation and telecom systems.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with fluency in English.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
