Job Description
Leap29 is currently partnering with a world-leading provider of technology and equipment for the energy industry. We are seeking an experienced Senior Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to join their team in Oslo.
This role is pivotal in driving efficient project execution and selecting high quality E&I systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Strategy: Establish Control Philosophies in collaboration with Process teams and review client specifications to define project scope.
- Technical Design: Develop and maintain the Instrument Index, Power Consumption lists, Interconnection Diagrams, and Instrument Datasheets.
- Automation Oversight: Specify Automation systems (DCS, PLC, etc.), determine IO counts, and create single-line diagrams.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with the Process group on P&ID tagging and control logic; provide technical input to Procurement for RFQ evaluations.
- Bid Support: Review tender documentation to provide critical input on pricing, scope, and planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Control Systems, Telecom, or Automation Engineering.
- Experience: At least 10 years in a similar C&I role, preferably within Oilfield Services or a related heavy-industrial sector.
- Technical Proficiency: * Proven experience in 3D modeling for E&I, Telecom, and Fire & Gas equipment (specifically AVEVA E3D / PDMS) is a strong advantage.
- Deep knowledge of field instrumentation, F&G, and Telecom design.
- Standards & Safety: Expertise in installations for Hazardous Areas (IECEx, ATEX) and familiarity with industry codes such as NORSOK, API, ISO, and IEC.
- Communication: Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Field experience is considered a distinct advantage.
