Job Description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Geophysicist , you will be responsible for leading a team and contributing to various carbon capture projects.

Location: Remote (Occasional office visits in Aberdeen)

Duration: 12 month renewable contract 

Day-to-day

  • Collaborating with team members to plan and execute geophysical projects
  • Analysing and interpreting geophysical data to support carbon capture and CO2 injection initiatives
  • Leading meetings and providing guidance to team members
  • Reviewing and validating geophysical findings
  • Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in geophysics

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing geophysical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Utilizing geophysical techniques to analyse data for carbon capture and CO2 injection projects
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to interpret seismic data and conduct exploration and appraisal activities
  • Contributing to EU project work and providing expertise in geophysical analysis
  • Providing technical analysis and support for seismic interpretation and well tie projects
  • Mentoring and guiding junior geophysicists in the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in geophysics, geology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in geophysics, preferably with EU project experience
  • Proven expertise in carbon capture, CO2 injection, seismic interpretation, well tie, and inversion work
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Knowledge of industry-standard geophysical software and tools
