Job Description
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Geophysicist , you will be responsible for leading a team and contributing to various carbon capture projects.
Location: Remote (Occasional office visits in Aberdeen)
Duration: 12 month renewable contract
Day-to-day
- Collaborating with team members to plan and execute geophysical projects
- Analysing and interpreting geophysical data to support carbon capture and CO2 injection initiatives
- Leading meetings and providing guidance to team members
- Reviewing and validating geophysical findings
- Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in geophysics
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing geophysical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
- Utilizing geophysical techniques to analyse data for carbon capture and CO2 injection projects
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to interpret seismic data and conduct exploration and appraisal activities
- Contributing to EU project work and providing expertise in geophysical analysis
- Providing technical analysis and support for seismic interpretation and well tie projects
- Mentoring and guiding junior geophysicists in the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in geophysics, geology, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in geophysics, preferably with EU project experience
- Proven expertise in carbon capture, CO2 injection, seismic interpretation, well tie, and inversion work
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of industry-standard geophysical software and tools
