Electrical Engineer – Offshore Systems (1–3 Years’ Experience OR More)
Location: Schiedam, Netherlands
Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract working via Leap29, after the 12 months you will go into a potential permanent position

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer with 1 to 3 years or more of experience to join a dynamic engineering team focused on offshore systems. You will contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality technical solutions across all project phases from concept development to site installation and commissioning. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in ETAP systems and a strong interest in working on jacking systems, lift vessels, and conceptual engineering.
You’ll work closely with Technical Project Management and cross-functional teams to ensure technical excellence, commercial awareness, and client satisfaction in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, analysis, and verification of offshore systems
- Lead or contribute to the technical coordination of electrical systems and equipment
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal quality procedures
- Review and manage supplier documentation and technical interfaces
- Conduct power system studies using ETAP (e.g., harmonics, load flow, arc flash)
- Optimise drive train components including transformers, inverters, and motors
- Prepare specifications for electrical and drive systems
- Define requirements for auxiliary systems (e.g., CCTV, lighting)
- Provide routing guidance and interface management for secondary systems (e.g., HVAC, slip rings)
- Attend and witness FATs for electrical equipment
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 1–3 years or more of relevant engineering experience
- Proficiency in ETAP and electrical system analysis
- Familiarity with jacking systems, lift vessels, and concept design
- Understanding of AC distribution and drive systems
- Experience with auxiliary and secondary system integration
- Strong documentation and project lifecycle knowledge
