Drilling Performance Engineer – Thailand

We are seeking an experienced Drilling Performance Engineer for a contract role in Thailand. This position is ideal for a highly capable technical professional who excels in fast-paced operations, NPT reduction, and performance optimisation.

You will play a key role in improving drilling execution across multiple well phases, supporting hot/high-temperature wells, and collaborating closely with internal and external teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead drilling performance optimisation across fast drilling operations.

• Analyse and identify root causes of NPT; develop effective mitigation strategies.

• Provide technical support in drilling fluids, bit technology, BHA design, and overall well engineering.

• Support planning and execution for hot/high-temperature (HT) wells.

• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to drive performance improvements.

• Maintain professional and culturally aware interactions with all parties involved.

Required Experience & Skills

• ~15 years of experience in drilling engineering, performance engineering, or well engineering.

• Proven success improving drilling performance and reducing NPT.

• Strong technical knowledge of mud systems, drilling tools, BHA design, and HT well operations.

• Experience with HT wells in Thailand or similar HPHT/geothermal environments.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience working in Thailand or Southeast Asia.

• Background supporting multi-PSL or integrated service contracts.
