Job Description

Job Title: Cost Engineer

Location: United Kingdom

Contract role outside of IR35

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EPC or EPCM projects and possess extensive knowledge in engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and start-up processes. The candidate should have experience working on gas plants, oil refineries, or LNG plants. The role will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost analysis and reporting for multiple projects within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project teams to develop and maintain detailed project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up activities.
  • Monitor project costs against budget and identify and communicate variances to the project team and management.
  • Develop and maintain project controls processes, including cost management, schedule management, change management, risk management, and progress tracking.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project cost reports, including cost analysis, forecasting, and trending.
  • Participate in project risk analysis and contingency planning, including the development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain project cost control procedures, including the use of cost coding, cost breakdown structures, and cost control systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding project cost control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with project cost reporting requirements and standards, including client requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Utilize Ecosys, SAP or Oracle system to track and manage project costs, and ensure accurate data entry and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in EPC or EPCM projects, with experience in gas plants, oil refineries, or LNG plants.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and start-up processes.
  • Experience with Ecosys, SAP, or Oracle systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • UK residency is required.
