Construction Manager– 18 – 24 months – Malaysia
Location: Malaysia
Start Date: September 2024
Company: multinational conglomerate that produces fire, HVAC, and security equipment for buildings. As of mid-2019, it employed 105,000 people in around 2,000.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules, including resource allocation, to ensure timely completion of all project milestones.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site, conduct regular safety inspections, and implement corrective measures as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure that workmanship and materials meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
- Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities, to keep them informed of project progress and address any concerns promptly.
- Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
- Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts in a timely and efficient manner, fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach among team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager, preferably with a focus on industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as building codes and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification in construction management or related field (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus.
