Co-Director of Development
Leap29 have partnered with an international Renewables company who are hiring for a Co-Director of Development to assist in overseeing their France activities. Active across France, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, my client specialises in the development, construction, and operation of ground-mounted photovoltaic parks. They are searching for the right candidate to be based in their Paris office, preferably.
Present across the entire value chain, the company now has a project portfolio of more than 1 GW, including 450 MW in operation or under construction.
Reporting to the company's founders, this position will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's development trajectory, collaborating closely with the existing Director of Business Development. As such, the desirable applicant will be involved in 3 major areas:
Definition of the development strategy and management of the team
> Build the annual roadmap and structure the development phase of ground-based power plant projects
> Manage and lead the team of Project Managers and participate in the recruitment of future Managers
> Support your team in the field and ensure their skills development during the different key phases of a project in development
> Build and feed activity reports
Development and follow-up of a portfolio of projects
> Coordinate the prequalification of projects taking into account regulatory, administrative, environmental, technical and financial constraints
> Manage the constitution of authorization application files and ensure the follow-up of the investigation with the State services
> Manage all projects under development in coordination with other team members, local authorities, and partners
> Coordinate and share information with internal interlocutors
> Contribute to the improvement of internal processes
Consultations with stakeholders
> Carry out regular lobbying actions with elected officials, representatives of the territory, representatives of the agricultural profession, training services, prefecture; to ensure their support for projects
> Ensure consultation and communication with elected officials and environmental authorities to present projects and answer all questions
Requirements:
> An engineering background, specialised in energy, electrical engineering, or agronomy
> A minimum of 5 years' experience on ground-mounted Solar Photovoltaic or Onshore Wind projects that have led to the obtaining of authorisations & permits, the securing of connections and a feed-in tariff
> Fluency in English is a nice addition.
