• We’re looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a major data centre build in The Netherlands, supporting the design, implementation, and commissioning of automation, controls, and BMS systems within a mission-critical environment.

   

  You’ll work closely with electrical, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of intelligent building systems across this high-tech facility.

   

  Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support automation, SCADA, and BMS systems across all project stages
  • Configure, test, and validate control systems (e.g. PLCs, DDC, Modbus, BACnet)
  • Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to ensure system performance
  • Review automation and control drawings, I/O schedules, and sequence of operations
  • Conduct FATs/SATs and handover documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration and network issues
  • Support client during handover and initial operations

  Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in automation or controls engineering
  • Strong knowledge of BMS, PLCs, SCADA, or DDC systems (e.g. Siemens, Honeywell, Trend, Schneider)
  • Experience in data centres, pharma, industrial, or building automation projects
  • Familiar with networking, I/O wiring, protocols (Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP)
  • Able to read technical drawings, control panel schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
  • Valid EU work permit or right to work in The Netherlands
