Job Description
Area and Construction Coordinators Required – WAFER/FAB PROJECT (TOOL INSTALL) – Penang, Malaysia
The Location: Penang, Malaysia.
Duration: 1 year direct hire contract + Extensions
Working Week: Approx. 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday) OT maybe required dependent on operational requirement
The offer: Accommodation, local transport, flights, and visa sponsorship. Engagements will be direct with the client and paid monthly in Malaysian Ringgit

A Multinational main contractor and project management consultancy. This company has its name against some of the most prestigious high profiles projects around the work, from high-value life science and mission critical facilities through to Nuclear and semi con/wafer projects.
The Projects
Brownfield expansion project relating to semiconductor fabrication. This project will consist of several new building within a larger campus. The facility is expected to commence production in mid 2024. Total capex value $7 billion USD
Duties / Responsibilities
Area Coordinators / Construction Coordinators will be assigned to take care of the installation of their functional area(s) on site.
They will be the contact windows for the contractor, client’s Area Coordinator and Area design lead regarding the functional area(s) assigned to them.
They will be coordinating all activities such as space management, routings, materials tracking, sequence of work, general work permit review and sign-off, SIPP review and coordination, interfacing with Tool Owners and vendors etc. for successful completion of all CAT1 & CAT2 milestones for all the tools in their functional area(s). Meantime they will also need to oversee safety, ITP prevention and quality installation for their areas.
Area coordinators shall be working closely with client’s counterparts to align on services turn-on schedules and solving of critical issues. ACs shall also be responsible to identify change request work and all work outside of original contract scope and report to the management as required. Area coordinators will lead AARs and investigate on incidents on the tools under their functional areas.
Area coordinators shall be working closely with their counterparts to lead & attend construction incident investigation, AAR preparation and actions follow up.
Review construction method statement. Ensure that subcontractors are following the approved method statement for executing the works on site.
Attend and/or chair Kick-off meeting, TO3 meeting, Whiteboard meeting, Safety and Quality Site Walk and any other meeting as required. Lead the design kick-off release meeting in the field with design leads/Tool Owners/Subcontractors to ensure that all scope of work needed for a tool are discussed and will be captured in the
Candidate Requirements
· Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline – Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Chemical etc
· Experienced managing packaged of discipline engineering work
· Experienced gained working in a site-based management role working on mission critical or high technology projects (Data Centres / Semi-Conductors/Nuclear/Power Generation/Solar)
· Ideally experienced in working for a tier one main contractor – EPC
· Experience gained working in Southeast Asia or Internationally would be preferable
· Tool Install construction experience.
· Excellent command of spoken and written English
