Structural Engineer – Offshore Projects
Structural engineers in this role are responsible for the design and analysis of structures subjected to functional loads in offshore environments. The position involves assessing structural integrity and ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Define the structural scope of work, methodologies, and progress tracking;
Conduct design studies and prepare documentation outlining the structural components of the project;
Develop budgets and schedules for all structural design activities;
Perform concept, basic, and detailed calculations and simulations;
Create procedures for the use and testing of installation/removal aids, collaborating with project and offshore teams;
Generate material take-offs based on structural design requirements;
Report progress to engineering leadership or delegated authority;
Provide engineering support during offshore execution phases;
Coordinate the fabrication of project-specific aids, either in-house or via subcontractors;
Review subcontractor designs and proposed installation/removal methods;
Contribute to the engineering close-out report with relevant input;
Offer feedback to enhance internal standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Candidate Profile:
BSc or MSc degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline);
4–6 years of relevant experience (medior) or 7+ years (senior);
Strong organizational skills with a proactive and practical mindset;
Familiarity with structural engineering software (e.g., FEMAP, GeniE) is advantageous but not required;
Proficiency in English;
Commitment to professional development and increasing responsibilities;
Willingness to travel and participate in offshore assignments;
An interest or background in offshore/marine engineering is preferred.
