My client is a major player in the renewable energy space, a well-established, fast-growing independent power producer with operations across more than 10 countries, including Europe, Latin America, and several island zones. Headquartered in France and backed by strong financial foundations, they’ve scaled to over 130 employees globally and are now pushing ambitious development targets beyond 5 GW.

The Opportunity
To support their growth plans in Central Europe, my client is looking to appoint a Country Director to lead the business in the Czech Republic. This is a strategic role, offering the chance to shape the entire national market presence, from development and partnerships to execution and financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Market Leadership
- Define and deliver the Czech market strategy in line with wider group objectives (capacity targets, timelines, budgets, quality standards).
- Oversee market analysis (legal, fiscal, regulatory) to guide investment decisions and financial modelling.
- Continuously improve internal processes to enhance project delivery and commercial outcomes.
Project & Partnership Oversight
- Manage co-development partnerships across the full project lifecycle from early-stage origination to commissioning.
- Ensure a robust pipeline of investment-ready projects.
- Support land acquisition and permitting activities in coordination with local partners.
Business Development & Negotiation
- Identify new project opportunities, co-development agreements, and acquisition targets.
- Lead on negotiation of key commercial contracts (co-dev deals, shareholder pacts, joint ventures) with legal support.
- Prepare investment memos and secure internal approvals.
Leadership & Financial Management
- Oversee project financial performance, budgets, and timelines.
- Take ownership of key KPIs and ensure alignment with broader strategic priorities.
- Act as a hands-on leader, empowering local teams and driving collaboration with partners on the ground.
Reporting & Internal Communication
- Deliver up-to-date insights on market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive activity.
- Maintain strong reporting lines with HQ and make proactive recommendations to leadership.
- Flag risks, opportunities, and resource needs at an early stage.
Ideal Profile
- Around 10 years of experience in the Czech energy or infrastructure space—ideally with a developer, investor, financial institution, or advisory firm.
- Entrepreneurial, strategic, and results-driven.
- Strong experience with partnerships, contract negotiation, and project delivery.
- Fluent in English and Czech, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Able to operate independently while coordinating with international teams.
