Job Description

E/I Technician (Onshore) – Alkmaar, Netherlands

Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract working via Leap29, after the 12 months you will go into a potential permanent position.

Language Requirement: Dutch Speaking

Leap29 is seeking an experienced E/I Technician to join an established energy company in the Netherlands. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical and instrumentation equipment. As part of the maintenance organisation, you will execute tasks according to the maintenance plan or based on priority, as coordinated by the Maintenance Coordinator and/or Scheduler. All findings, malfunctions, and corrective actions will be reported within the MAXIMO Asset Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain assets to ensure high-quality standards and availability of installations while adhering to regulations, safety guidelines, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate work with Operators to ensure smooth operations.
  • Execute maintenance and modification activities as per the planned schedule.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in line with approved working procedures.
  • Supervise service and sub-contractors when required.
  • Conduct additional tasks as directed by the Maintenance Coordinator or OIM.
  • Mark up drawings after modifications and verify revised drawings.
  • Provide feedback to the Maintenance Engineering team to improve PM tasks.
  • Ensure correct use of tools, equipment, and personal toolbox.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards at the site.
  • Immediately report any accidents, incidents, near misses, or potential hazards.
  • Act as the responsible person for electrical installations in compliance with NEN3140 & 3840 regulations.
  • Create work requests for follow-up on inspections.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Document all electrical and instrumentation work order results, including failures, technical findings, asset status, and material consumption.
  • Prepare material requests for E/I work.
  • Maintain all relevant project documentation.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for professionals with a mid- to high-level technical diploma (MTS Level 4) in a relevant engineering discipline and 5-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

We welcome candidates with expertise in the following:

  • PLCs, metering, control systems, and variable speed drives (VSDs).
  • Safe systems of work (Permit to Work), hazard awareness, and mitigation.
  • Gas turbines, compressors, pumps, and fans.
  • ATEX regulations and compliance.
  • CMMS systems (preferably Maximo).
  • Office applications (e.g., Microsoft 365).
  • Experience with LV & HV installations (preferred).

Location & Language Requirements:

  • Must be based in the Netherlands.
  • Fluent Dutch speaker (native or professional proficiency).
