About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Safety Engineer to join a leading operator client in Stavanger. Our client operates globally, delivering large-scale projects across the oil & gas industry. This role offers an opportunity to work on high-profile offshore and onshore projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical safety and risk assessments for offshore and onshore oil & gas projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Norwegian and international safety regulations (NORSOK, ISO, IEC, DNV).
  • Develop and review HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and QRA studies.
  • Support design safety by conducting risk analyses, fire and explosion evaluations, and escape route assessments.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams to integrate safety into project designs.
  • Provide input for safety cases, design philosophies, and technical documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and third-party verification bodies.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Safety, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical safety within the oil & gas sector, preferably with EPCI projects.
  • Strong knowledge of safety design principles, risk assessment techniques, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with barrier management, ALARP principles, and functional safety (IEC 61508/61511).
  • Familiarity with offshore and subsea safety requirements.
  • Fluent in English (Norwegian proficiency is a plus).
