Project Engineer – Papendrecht, Netherlands

Contract Duration – 6 Month Contract (Possible Extension)

The Project Engineer provides technical support for small-sized and less complex technical tenders, projects, and designs, as well as parts of medium to complex projects. The role ensures that projects are executed in accordance with agreed requirements, including safety, quality, time, budget, and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently draft specifications and procedures for tenders, projects, and designs within the required framework, ensuring optimal project results.
  • Design and develop new technical solutions to meet requirements, providing alternative solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Persuade external customers and surveyors of the feasibility and safety of proposed solutions and specifications.
  • Define engineering scope for small projects and parts of complex projects, including staffing, planning, and budgeting.
  • Supervise and assess the work of colleagues, subcontractors, and customers to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Report progress on small or less complex projects to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely identification of deviations in planning, resources, quality, or cost.
  • Assist and advise on the execution of tenders and projects, providing logistical support when required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of department processes, ensuring lessons learned are implemented.
  • Manage small engineering teams, coach team members, and contribute to performance appraisals.

Project Responsibilities

  • Oversee cable loadout operations in the port of Blyth.
  • Manage cable installation of ARC along specified routes, including CPS installation.
  • Supervise survey activities related to cable installation before and after cable laying.
  • Oversee rock bag installation using wet-stored rock bags.
  • Supervise survey activities related to cable burial.

 Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant discipline training (as per company training matrix).
  • Mandatory safety training certification.

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with engineering methods, techniques, and software related to the discipline.
  • Prior experience with project management.

Other Requirements

  • Strong command of English (written and spoken).
  • Advanced knowledge of ICT and planning applications, with a basic understanding of drafting applications.
  • Understanding of operational offshore processes.
  • Knowledge of WoW and NINA safety principles.
