Onshore Civils Package Manager

Leap29 is partnering with one of Europe’s largest renewable energy independent power producers, leading the way in developing floating offshore wind farms, with a primary focus in Italy.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Onshore Civil Package Manager to oversee the civil engineering aspects of floating offshore wind farm projects in Italy. The role covers Pre-CfD, pre-FEED, and FEED stages, ensuring all onshore civil engineering activities align with the project's technical, budgetary, and scheduling objectives.

My client have offices in Milan and Rome, supported by a flexible working policy. Team members typically work from the office 1–2 days per week, allowing for a manageable balance even for those living outside these cities. Note that we cannot offer fully remote contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead onshore civil engineering packages, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, structural, marine, and environmental specialists.
  • Manage onshore-offshore interface at landfall.

Technical Oversight

  • Support Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval and ensure compliance with EIA requirements.
  • Develop and manage onshore civil engineering design packages during pre-CfD, pre-FEED, and FEED stages.
  • Oversee onshore site investigations, geotechnical studies, and ensure designs meet relevant standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary onshore civil scope interface between the global project team and local/internal stakeholders, including contractors and regulatory bodies.
  • Present project updates and technical details effectively to stakeholders.

Planning and Risk Management

  • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and coordinate with procurement teams to align construction timelines.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and procurement documentation.
  • Oversee contractors to ensure scope, budget, and schedule adherence, providing clarifications as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in civil/onshore construction engineering for large infrastructure projects, with 5+ years in offshore/onshore wind projects.
  • Proven expertise in managing civil engineering packages during pre-FEED and FEED stages.
  • Experience with floating offshore wind projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in civil engineering design software and project management tools.
  • Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of construction law and large-scale investment processes in Italy.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and cooperation skills.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the full value chain.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a driven professional to play a central role in advancing floating offshore wind projects in Italy, on behalf of a globally accomplished IPP.
