Automation Leader/Manager – CAPEX Project
Location: Initial project to take place in Dublin, Ireland for up to 8 months and then a move to Germany to carry on the project up to 2 years. You must have an EU passport to apply.
Contract Duration: This will be a contract working via Leap29.
As the Automation Leader, you will play a critical role in driving the digitalization and automation transformation within the project. By developing strategic, long-term plans aligned with global engineering standards, you will ensure the successful delivery of automation initiatives. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement a cohesive strategy and achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement a strategic vision for project delivery and long-term operational success.
- Build and lead a cross-functional organization to support digitalization and automation initiatives, ensuring clear ownership across teams.
- Develop and execute a digitalization and automation strategy and roadmap aligned with site and global team objectives.
- Collaborate with functional leads and provide updates to the Program Manager on execution progress, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Create a robust reporting and communication framework to highlight risks, mitigation strategies, and opportunities to all stakeholders.
- Manage the coordination of internal teams, external consultants, and vendors, defining clear scopes and deliverables for all involved.
- Oversee capacity planning, ensure efficiency, and manage timelines and budgets to meet strategic goals.
- Monitor and control project budgets, prioritizing activities in collaboration with the Program Manager and global teams.
- Lead a team of specialists in Automation, Digitalization, and MES systems to deliver on project objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of 15+ years of experience in automation and digital services within the Life Sciences sector, with a proven ability to influence senior leadership.
- Deep expertise in L2/L3 automation technologies, including PCS, MES, Historians, various PLCs, Fire & Gas systems, BMS, access control, and IT-OT integration.
- Proven experience managing large-scale automation CAPEX projects with advanced technologies.
- Strong understanding of how digitalization and automation impact business processes, culture, and mindsets.
- Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and execute automation and digitalization initiatives.
- Expertise in change management and stakeholder engagement across all organizational levels.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder management.
