Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer – Bridge Infrastructure Project

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands

Employment Type: Contract

Project Overview:We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team on a significant bridge infrastructure project in the Rotterdam area. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability and safety of the project's foundations and soil-structure interactions, contributing to the successful delivery of a critical infrastructure upgrade.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis, to assess ground conditions.
Provide expert input on foundation designs, including shallow and deep foundations, pile designs, and retaining structures.
Analyze and interpret geotechnical data to inform design decisions and project planning.
Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, and project managers to integrate geotechnical insights into project designs.
Prepare geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
Oversee geotechnical activities on-site, including monitoring ground movement, excavation, and foundation construction.
Address technical challenges related to soil stability, groundwater, and load-bearing capacity throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all work aligns with Dutch and EU geotechnical standards and guidelines.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proven expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and geotechnical risk assessment.
Familiarity with geotechnical software tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of Dutch geotechnical codes and regulations.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Fluency in English; Dutch proficiency is highly desirable.
