As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure that supports our clients' business needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions tailored to client requirements, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Cloud Integration: Work with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) to manage and optimise cloud environments, providing expertise in cloud migrations and hybrid solutions.
- Networking & Security: Manage and optimise network architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, and other security protocols, ensuring robust protection against threats.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide second and third-line support for infrastructure-related issues, working closely with clients to resolve incidents and minimise downtime.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management and reduce manual processes using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell.
- Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and project managers, to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet client needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technology trends and recommend improvements to existing systems and infrastructure practices.
- Client-Facing: Engage with clients to understand their infrastructure needs, provide technical consultation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with their business goals.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in designing and managing enterprise IT infrastructures, including data centres, cloud environments, and hybrid solutions.
- Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment, management, and optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with networking technologies (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, etc.) and related security protocols.
- Experience with server virtualisation (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficient in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of ITIL or other service management frameworks.
- Certification in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, etc.) would be beneficial.
