My client is seeking a highly experienced Project Engineering Manager for Emerging Markets. As Project Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for all technical areas of the scope, providing technical advice and guidance to meet both client and project expectations, aims, and goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing the engineering work for dedicated projects, covering technical areas such as Process, Electrical, Instrument & Control, Telecoms, Mechanical, Piping-Layout, 3D modeling, and Structure. The EPC projects typically involve teams of 40-100+ people across disciplines, with project budgets ranging from approximately 30M to 100M USD, depending on scope.
The client seeks someone with a background in process modules, and the knowledge of how different elements above come together to package a module.
This role is preferably located in Oslo, Norway, as it serves as the head office location. However, given the global structure of the organization, other locations within Europe will be considered.
Our Expectations:
- A thorough understanding of project execution and the interdependencies between technical disciplines, engineering sequence, procurement, and planning.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues, identifying improvement opportunities, and fostering a continuous improvement culture to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Coordination and collaboration with other members of the Engineering Management Group and departments within the organization, such as BD, sales, and Life Cycle Services, to enhance the client’s value offering.
- A proactive and responsible approach to project ownership, with consistent follow-up on the projects under your management.
- A focus on maximizing tender success by working closely with BD&S, technology, procurement, engineering, and management teams to optimize technical tender solutions from handover to submission.
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Hold a degree in a relevant engineering discipline and have 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, with responsibility for managing multidisciplinary engineering teams in EPC projects.
- Have strong familiarity with the interfaces between engineering, procurement, and fabrication of process/utility/topside modules and skids, including rotating & static equipment, piping, valves, instrumentation, and ancillary equipment.
- Enjoy managing the technical aspects of a project, addressing detailed engineering challenges, and making prioritizations as necessary. A certain level of creativity and the ability to make informed decisions in dynamic situations are essential.
- Be organized and able to identify priorities and key activities to meet technical and commercial milestones, with a solid commercial understanding being an advantage.
