Job Overview:
A leading service company supporting North Sea operations is seeking a highly skilled Production Geologist to join their remote team. This role is a 12-month renewable contract and requires a UK-based professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in production geology, particularly in geomodelling and mature field analysis. The successful candidate will play an integral role in evaluating subsurface data, providing LTRO (Long-Term Reservoir Optimization) assessments, and addressing complex, multidisciplinary subsurface challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected Production Geologist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to guide project success and reservoir performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Geomodelling & Reservoir Characterization: Develop and maintain geomodels to support field development planning, reservoir management, and production forecasting.
- LTRO Assessments: Conduct and advise on Long-Term Reservoir Optimization (LTRO) assessments, focusing on mature fields and maximizing recovery potential.
- Multidisciplinary Subsurface Problem Solving: Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, Petrophysicist, and drilling teams to provide solutions for subsurface issues, integrating data and insights across disciplines.
- Data Interpretation & Analysis: Analyse well data, production history, and seismic information to advise on optimal development strategies and recommend field development adjustments.
- Technical Reporting & Recommendations: Deliver clear, actionable recommendations through technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder consultations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in production geology with a strong focus on North Sea or similar mature field projects.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in geomodelling software (e.g., Petrel) and in-depth knowledge of reservoir characterization and optimization.
- LTRO & Mature Field Experience: Familiarity with mature field LTRO assessments and demonstrated ability to enhance production and recovery in aging reservoirs.
- Problem Solving & Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Proven track record of advising on complex subsurface issues and working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in the UK to meet the role requirements and client engagement needs.
