Senior / Lead Instrument & Controls Engineer – Amsterdam OR Schiedam, Netherlands

Language Requirement – Dutch Speaking (At least B2 and, preferably, close to C1 level) and English language

Requirements:

  • As a Senior Instrumentation & Process Control Engineer you have a fairly broad and challenging range of tasks.
  • You will have an independent and advisory role within the fields of Instrumentation & Process Control and will act as a “leader” within the team based on your expertise
  • You have an active and challenging role in the design and implementation of new systems, but also often (re)instrumentation and migration projects
  • Together with your Lead engineer, you will be partly responsible for translating the customer's wishes into design documents. This includes solving industrial automation issues, writing specifications, creating data sheets for field instruments, carrying out bid evaluations, preparing cost estimates, developing control & safeguarding philosophy, control & safeguarding Narratives, creating cause & effect diagrams, writing advisory reports and functional specifications.
  • In addition, you can also be responsible for supervising a complete implementation process including FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup
  • The ultimate goal is to achieve a desired result together with the customer, for example reduction of emissions or energy savings and safe installation

 

What the client expects from you?

  • A proven track record as a Senior Instrumentation and Process Control Engineer, preferably gained at an engineering firm (at least 8 years of experience)
  • Extensive experience in writing specifications for field instrumentation
  • Some affinity and experience with DCS, PLC and SCADA systems; is recommended
  • Extensive experience with multidisciplinary projects is an advantage
  • Knowledge of codes, standards and regulations related to instrumentation and control systems, such as ISA, IEC and NEC
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and social skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Minimum HBO working and thinking level
