Job Description
Senior Permitting Project Manager - Rome
I am collaborating with a leading developer in the renewable energy space, with operations spanning multiple continents, and active developments in South Europe and the Americas. My client explore a variety of technologies including Solar PV, Wind, Storage, biomass and Green Hydrogen.
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of renewable PV and BESS projects through the permitting process to reach RtB (Ready to Build) status.
- Assist in early-stage project origination.
- Oversee the pipeline of Renewable, Agri-PV, and BESS projects, managing risks and milestones to ensure project success.
- Manage the permitting process until projects achieve RtB status, coordinating with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with co-developers, suppliers, investors, and stakeholders.
- Work closely with legal, finance, and engineering departments, and coordinate with external service providers.
- Define project plans, establish budgets, and monitor progress.
- Prepare regular internal and client-facing reports to track project developments.
- Ensure all required technical studies are completed to meet necessary permits and authorizations.
- Provide expertise to support other renewable and storage-related initiatives within the company.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Energy or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 3-4 years in a permitting or project management role, specifically within renewable energy.
- Regulatory Expertise: Experience with Italian permitting authorities (MASE, Regioni, comuni, Terna) and familiarity with project authorization processes (AU, PAUR, PAS) is highly beneficial.
- Language Proficiency: Native Italian; fluent in English.
- Knowledge of PVsyst, PVcase, PVdesign, and QGIS is advantageous.
