Job Title: Wireline Engineer
Location: UAE, KSA, Africa
Department: Operations
Reports To: Field Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Wireline Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality wireline services in oil and gas wells, including logging, perforating, and pipe recovery operations. This role involves managing wireline operations on-site, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The Wireline Engineer works closely with clients and other field personnel to provide technical expertise and ensure efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Execute Wireline Operations: Design, plan, and perform wireline logging, perforating, and other related downhole services. Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with industry standards, company policies, and client requirements.

  • Technical Expertise: Analyze logging data and provide recommendations based on well conditions. Use expertise in wireline tools and techniques to optimize service delivery and troubleshoot issues.

  • Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and operation of wireline equipment to ensure optimal performance. Perform routine checks and repairs to maintain equipment integrity.

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) regulations. Conduct pre-job safety meetings, risk assessments, and ensure all team members comply with safety protocols.

  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their technical needs, provide updates on operations, and deliver data interpretation reports. Act as the primary point of contact on-site for all wireline-related activities.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise field crew, providing direction and training as needed. Foster a team environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and interpret data from wireline logs and prepare detailed reports for clients. Provide technical recommendations based on data findings to assist in well planning and optimization.

  • Inventory Management: Manage on-site inventory of wireline tools and consumables, ensuring that necessary equipment is available for scheduled operations.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose operational and technical issues during wireline services, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain service quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in wireline operations within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of downhole wireline tools, technologies, and data interpretation.
  • Proficiency with logging software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Valid certifications related to wireline operations, such as IADC, IWCF, or equivalent, are preferred.
  • Ability to work in remote locations and travel as required.
