Job Description
I am currently partnering with a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a significant development portfolio of Solar and BESS projects in Ireland. Our client is active across Ireland, Europe, and the USA, and they offer the opportunity to become part of a high growth company in the fast-moving renewables sector.
Key responsibilities
- Develop procurement scope and contracting strategy for the different packages: pre-Contract Services Packages for Owners Engineer, Soft Landscaping and Site Investigation, among others.
- Manage tendering process: including tendering documentation and review proposals received.
- Elaborate procurement evaluation reports: Technical and Price Evaluation of differing quotations on a like for like basis.
- Presentation and recommendation of procurement options to senior management.
- Contract Execution: Drafting and negotiating contracts including agreement of contract conditions, programmes, and scope of works.
- Value Engineering: Reviewing options to provide better value to the company in relating to the procurement options available.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with contractors and suppliers, including regular commercial updates and technical workshops.
- Track commercial trends and provide internal guidance and updates.
- Better Buying: Reviewing, identifying, and selecting suitable options to better buy services.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all projects are delivered to the highest safety standards.
- Contract Negotiations: Ensuring best value is sought and achieved for all proposed packages.
- Contract Management: Ensure programme, commercial, quality and health and safety is tracked and risks identified during the delivery of contracts.
- Commercial/Change Management: During the delivery of projects/contracts ensure any change is diligently reviewed in time and negotiated accordingly.
- Billing Management: Tracking, assessing and certifying contractor applications for payment and always ensuring, the cost position is known.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Ideally, 3+ years’ experience working in renewable energy.
- Track record in the procurement of construction services and/or equipment for renewable projects: utility-scale Solar PV, BESS and grid connection infrastructures preferred.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
