Job Description

Job Title: Project Engineering Manager (outside IR35)

Location: Aberdeen

Duration of Assignment: 12 months

Project Scope: The Project Engineering Manager will be responsible for delivering a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project for our client, ensuring seamless coordination between all offices involved in the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stakeholder Management:

    • Manage external stakeholders (client-facing) and internal stakeholders (lead disciplines, engineering centers).
    • Oversee project controls, procurement, and third-party contractors or suppliers.
  2. Project Execution:

    • Perform duties with minimal supervision and within agreed schedules and budgets.
    • Handle change management processes as required.
    • Ensure design consistency across multi-discipline engineering design activities.
    • Provide necessary input and support for project progress and reporting.
  3. Project Phases:

    • Collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver the project from Pre-FEED, FEED, to detailed design.
    • Work on Pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design, or EPC projects as required.
  4. Client and Specification Compliance:

    • Ensure compatibility and conformance with client specifications.
    • Recommend cost-effective improvements to equipment selection/specifications within the scope of client requirements.
  5. Design Review and Approval:

    • Participate in and potentially lead multi-discipline Engineering Design Reviews.
    • Provide input and approval for closing out actions.
  6. Strategic Planning:

    • Assist in strategic procurement planning, including long lead items enquiry.
  7. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Report to the Project Manager and Line Manager as required.
    • Prepare necessary project documentation, including the Project Execution Plan, Level 3 Schedule, and Document Registers.
  8. Risk and Quality Management:

    • Maintain the Risk & Opportunity register, Assumptions, and Decisions register.
    • Ensure the quality of all engineering deliverables produced by the business.

Corporate Reporting Line:

  • Report to the respective Departmental/Group Manager.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing FEED projects.
  • Strong understanding of multi-discipline engineering design activities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with change management processes.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.
