Leap29 are searching for Project Development Manager on behalf of an established Renewables Developer. In this role, you'll take charge of managing the development of Wind and Solar projects, overseeing everything from site identification to project completion.

Location: Chicago, IL - hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the identification and evaluation of potential sites for solar and wind projects.
• Develop and nurture relationships with landowners, utilities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct thorough feasibility studies, including site assessments, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage the permitting process, ensuring prompt acquisition of all necessary approvals and permits.
• Coordinate project design and engineering activities, collaborating closely with internal and external teams to devise optimal project layouts.
• Oversee project financing efforts, including securing financing partners and managing financial models.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Lead interconnection and grid integration efforts, working closely with utility partners and regulatory agencies.
• Support community engagement and outreach initiatives to raise awareness and encourage participation in projects.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to inform project development strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on wind and/or solar.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully developing and delivering renewable energy projects.
• Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Genuine passion for sustainability and renewable energy.
