Discipline Maintenance Engineer Automation – Rotterdam, Netherlands

Permanent – Full Time Position

Preferred Language Requirement: Dutch Speaking

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineering Lead, you will be jointly responsible for the proper functioning and integrity of the technical installations. You will be involved in the design, management and maintenance of the on-site automation systems and the implementation of programming and the improvement of cybersecurity and alarm management. In addition, you are jointly responsible for the proper functioning and integrity of the technical installations.

You set up maintenance programs including appropriate analyses and effective follow-up. You set up maintenance programs including appropriate analyses and effective follow-up. You will be part of a team consisting of 13 maintenance and reliability engineers. You will contribute to the quality of maintenance work in the medium to long term, for example by conducting studies into failure frequencies, maintenance costs, cybersecurity and system integrity. You will work closely with the implementation and production department and the supplier of the automation systems with regard to updates and malfunctions.

Responsibilities:

  • You identify opportunities for improvement and come up with concrete initiatives to implement them
  • Together with the DCS System Administrator, you ensure that automation systems are secure, available and up-to-date
  • You are involved in software changes and the conversion to a higher level in automation via sequences
  • You are the technical leader for small projects

For large projects, you act as a functional expert. During the different project phases, you will do accurate reviews and evaluations on the design, including verification on final documentation. You will use your knowledge of process control, hardware, software and communication protocols.

You keep an eye on all aspects of QHSE and intervene if you identify risks.

Requirements:

  • HBO/WO Industrial Automation or similar
  • Approximately five years of experience in a maintenance or reliability engineering department
  • Good analytical skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the programming of automation systems such as Honeywell (C300 Experion control modules and safety manager systems) and ABB AC800
  • Preferably knowledge of topics such as cybersecurity and alarm management
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language
  • Critical, risk-aware, enterprising and good with people
