Lead Instrument & Automation Engineer – Delfzijl, Netherlands

Contract Duration: 12 Months (Initially via Agency, transitioning to Direct Employment)

Preferred Language Requirement: Dutch Speaking

As a Lead Engineer, you will be tasked with defining the scope of instrumentation and automation projects at our client’s Delfzijl site. Your responsibilities include delivering project scopes, budget estimates, and initial points for Basic Engineering Packages within specified timeframes, costs, and quality standards. You will oversee engineering resource planning and budget estimates for different project phases and conduct proactive investigations into problem statements, providing clients with cost-effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining the technical scope of projects.
  • Translate project requirements into deliverables applicable to the project phases, including project scopes, budget estimates, and resource requirements.
  • Participate in or conduct studies as necessary for projects.
  • Provide technical advice to project managers on problem statements within the discipline.
  • Translate project scopes into activities, schedules, and resource needs, considering project specifications, other involved disciplines, and potential project overlaps.
  • Facilitate communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Execute basic and detailed engineering tasks or delegate them accordingly.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities within the domain, such as updating standards, procedures, or investing in new tools or expertise.

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s (HBO) degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the industry.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English; Dutch proficiency is advantageous.
