Project Development Manager — Energy Storage
Leap29 has teamed up with a leading clean energy platform specialising in utility-scale Energy Storage assets. My client oversees the identification, origination, development, financing, and implementation of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage projects, overseeing the entire development lifecycle from concept to the delivery of investable assets.
The company primarily operates in the fast-growing Italian market, with short-term plans to enter additional major EU markets for Energy Storage.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in moving Energy Storage projects forward, from initial planning to completion.
- Lead project teams, both inside and outside the company, including technical experts.
- Make sure projects stay on schedule.
- Build and manage relationships with outside groups like landowners and government agencies.
- Handle discussions with TSO Terna and others about connecting to the power grid.
- Check project permits to make sure they're complete and follow the rules.
- Help make big decisions about which projects to focus on.
- Stay updated on industry news to spot risks and opportunities quickly.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Renewables or Energy, working on projects or in management roles.
- Background in similar sectors like Renewable energy development, utilities, or engineering.
- Understanding of how Renewable projects are developed in Italy.
- Experience with Energy Storage is a bonus, but not necessary. The team will offer training.
- Comfortable interacting confidently with various stakeholders.
- Able to travel occasionally on short notice.
Languages & others
- Fluent in English and Italian, other European languages desirable
- Based in Milan, or able to commute
