Job Description

Site Engineer – 18 – 24 months – Malaysia

Location:                                                      Malaysia

Start Date:                                                   September 2024

Company:                                                    multinational conglomerate that produces fire, HVAC, and security equipment for buildings. As of mid-2019, it employed 105,000 people in around 2,000.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide on-site supervision of construction activities, including monitoring progress, inspecting workmanship, and ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  2. Implement quality control procedures to ensure that construction work meets or exceeds engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  3. Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site, conduct regular safety inspections, and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
  4. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment and resolve any site-related issues that may arise.
  5. Provide technical support to project teams, including interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, resolving technical queries, and implementing engineering changes as required.
  6. Prepare daily progress reports, documenting work activities, site conditions, and any deviations from the project schedule or specifications.
  7. Identify and resolve technical challenges and construction issues in a timely and efficient manner, collaborating with project teams to develop effective solutions.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, permits, test reports, and as-built records.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role, preferably in industrial construction projects.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as building codes and regulations.
  4. Familiarity with construction management software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
  5. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  6. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  7. Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus.
