Job Description

Construction Manager– 18 – 24 months – Malaysia

Location:                                                      Malaysia

Start Date:                                                   September 2024

Company:                                                    multinational conglomerate that produces fire, HVAC, and security equipment for buildings. As of mid-2019, it employed 105,000 people in around 2,000.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed project plans and schedules, including resource allocation, to ensure timely completion of all project milestones.
  2. Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site, conduct regular safety inspections, and implement corrective measures as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
  3. Oversee quality control processes to ensure that workmanship and materials meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
  4. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
  5. Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities, to keep them informed of project progress and address any concerns promptly.
  6. Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
  7. Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts in a timely and efficient manner, fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach among team members.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  2. Proven experience as a Construction Manager, preferably with a focus on industrial projects.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as building codes and regulations.
  4. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
  5. Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  6. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Certification in construction management or related field (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus.
