Project Developer/Business Developer - Renewable Energy (Wind & Solar)

Location: Bucharest, Romania



Join an established European renewable energy company as a Project Developer/Business Developer to spearhead the expansion of their activities in Romania. With a robust pipeline in place starting with wind and later solar, you will play a crucial role in driving the development of the projects, contributing to the company's ambitious growth plans in the region.

This position offers the opportunity to evolve into a Country Manager role, overseeing the establishment of a dedicated team in Romania.



  • Lead the end-to-end development of wind and solar projects, from site identification and feasibility studies to permitting and construction, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential opportunities, assess regulatory frameworks, and stay abreast of industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, landowners, and other industry partners to facilitate project success and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to establish and nurture a local team, providing mentorship and guidance, with the potential to grow into a Country Manager role.



  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Real estate, Business or related fields.
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on wind and solar projects.
  • In-depth understanding of the Romanian renewable energy market, including regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and key industry players.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, from conception to completion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of long-term business plans, with a keen interest in growing into a leadership role.
  • Professional English and Romanian language capabilities are a must. Additional languages are an advantage.
