Job Description

Leap29 are partnered with a leading IPP that develop, build, and manage utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the UK and internationally. Our client is backed by a major fund and have an established portfolio of projects, and a strong development pipeline.

 

Summary:

 

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of utility-scale Solar and BESS projects. This position will involve the planning and implementation of an agreed list of functions and deliverables across the project life span, from inception through to handover.

 

Reporting to the Head of Development, the Senior Project Manager will lead a team of PMs to meet the company's goals and objectives for development. We are seeking a candidate who possesses a high-level understanding of commercial, legal, technical and construction activities, and ability to maintain a disciplined tracking and reporting regime using recognized project management techniques and tools.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Planning and implementation of an agreed list of functions and deliverables across the project life span from inception through to handover.
  • Carry out HoT, Option and Lease negotiations for projects.
  • Taking ownership to deliver the project from the very earliest stage of the project life cycle to the final handover.
  • Ensuring that health and safety is at the forefront of all decision making.
  • Working within agreed budgets and time frames using recognised project management techniques and tools.
  • High-level understanding of commercial, legal, technical and construction activities.
  • Updating budgets and monthly project costs, including preparation of appropriate Change Control paperwork.
  • Maintain a disciplined tracking and reporting regime.
  • Prepare and update tracker reports and the project risk and issues register.
  • Produce monthly update reports for senior management.
  • Conduct site visits and meetings with landowners and development consultants.
  • Line Management and mentoring of Project Manager(s).

Skills you’ll have:

  • Strong Project Management skillset and experience.
  • Working knowledge in energy storage or the renewables sector.
