Sales Manager – Tokyo, Japan – Permanent Role

Salary:                                                              $6,500 USD - $7,500 USD + Bonus + Travel Expenses paid + Medical Cover

Travel:                                                               Expected to travel throughout Japan to meet with shipping owners / Directors

Language:                                                        Must be able to speak, read and write in Japanese and English

Scope of Work:                                              Reach out to all Ship Managers / Owners in Japan to sell marine lubricant on subscription.

A multinational oil and lubricant company that expanded their vision into the Marine industry in 2008. They now have an extensive delivery network spanning over 1,000 ports, operating in 80 countries and supported by over 40 oil blending companies.

Roles and responsibilities

• Manage 1 sales agent
• Sell marine lubricant to Ship Owners / Managers
• Be able to sell a subscription rather than a one-off purchase
• Use knowledge of ship machinery to explain benefits and win repeat business with client
• Use country knowledge to know where to find all Shipping companies in Japan
• Travel to client sites throughout Japan to meet with clients
• Chase payments from customers

Candidate Requirements

• Proficiency in Japanese and English (Fluency in both required)
• Possess good knowledge of the Japanese Shipping industry.
• 12 years’ experience in Shipping + Marine industry
• Be capable of working in a very fast paced company.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of Ship Machinery
• Ability to travel throughout Japan.
• Experience selling subscription products
• Candidate will be very energetic and highly driven
