CAM Engineering Manager - Battery Recycling Industry

Location: Belgium
Role Overview:

As the CAM Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading the conceptualisation, design, and optimisation of manufacturing processes for cathode materials within the battery recycling industry.
You will play a crucial role in driving innovation, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in process engineering, particularly in the development of manufacturing processes for cathode materials.
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, control systems, and equipment design.
  • Experience in powder handling within industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, or other relevant sectors.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
Responsibilities:

Concept Development: Lead the conceptualisation and development of the manufacturing process for cathode materials, considering material characteristics, process flow, equipment selection, and safety considerations.

Basic Design: Generate the basic design of the manufacturing process, including process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, material handling systems, utilities requirements, and control strategies.

Equipment Selection and Design: Identify and select appropriate equipment and machinery for the manufacturing process. Collaborate with equipment suppliers, mechanical engineers, and vendors to design and optimise equipment specifications, with a focus on powder handling experience in sensitive industries.

Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency improvement, considering factors such as yield, quality, cost, and environmental impact. Propose innovative solutions and modifications to improve process performance.

Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards throughout the manufacturing process, particularly regarding powder handling in sensitive industries.
