Job Description

Role: Quality & Risk Manager

 

Your responsibilities:  

  • Reporting to the Project Manager with key responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining the project quality management plan, ensure that the project adheres to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain the project risk management plan, identifying potential risks across all phases of the project, from design and procurement to construction and commissioning, and handover to operations.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the project.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to evaluate the probability and potential impact of identified risks, including prioritisation of risks based on their potential impact on project objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to avoid, mitigate, transfer, or accept risks.
  • Collaborate with Project Management Team, contractors, vendors/licensors to integrate risk mitigation measures into project planning and execution.
  • Plan and oversee regular quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with project and industry standards and regulations.
  • Identify and notify relevant stakeholders of any non-conformities or quality issues identified during audits and manage the close out of such non-conformities.
  • When quality issues arise, conduct a thorough analysis to identify the root cause and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Maintain thorough documentation related to quality management activities and risk management, including quality audit reports, risk registers, and action plans. Ensure that all relevant documentation is easily accessible and archived, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and construction, to integrate quality and risk management into all project aspects.
  • Analyse project outcomes and feedback to identify areas for quality improvement at regular intervals, including the capturing of learnings in the project lessons learned register.
  • Regularly report on quality metrics, audit results, and risk management activities, including any changes to the risk register, to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Promote and enforce quality control and assurance to develop a culture of quality and risk awareness within the project team.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: 

  • Minimum: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Structural or Mechanical), or other relevant fields. Industry specific certification related to quality or risk management.
  • Desirable: ISO9001 Lead Auditor. Masters degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or other related field.
  • Prior experience in quality management, risk assessment, or related roles in the context of EPC, EPCM or other field projects in the oil and gas or related industry.
  • Prior experience in offshore or marine environments, highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the technical aspects of EPC and EPCM, including FEED projects, including familiarity with design principles, construction methods, materials, and equipment relevant to the construction of oil and gas facilities and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, software and methodologies.
  • Understanding of quality management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficient in Risk Identification and Analysis and the ability to identify potential risks and evaluate their impact and probability.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to mitigate, transfer, avoid, or accept risks based on their potential impact on project objectives.
  • Capability to conduct or oversee quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with established project standards and regulations.
  • Ability to scrutinize project documentation to ensure compliance with project and industry quality criteria.
  • Ability to make informed decisions, sometimes under pressure, considering both quality requirements and potential risks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with any industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Thorough understanding of safety protocols, especially in high-risk environments like offshore platforms and marine environments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.

Details about the role: 

Location:  

  • 1st week in Copenhagen Denmark at client offices (4 days)
  • 2nd week at FEED Contractor 1 Office - Norway (3 to 4 days)
  • 3rd week at FEED Contractor 2 Office - UK (3 to 4 days)

Contract type: Permanent 2 yr fixed term contract

Experience level: Minimum 5+ years
