Job Description

Role: Construction & Hook-Up Commissioning Lead

Your responsibilities:  

  • Reporting to the Topsides Manager with focus on alignment of construction and hook-up activities with broader organizational goals and project planning.
  • Liaise with engineering disciplines during the FEED and design phases to positively influence constructability and undertake constructability assurance reviews.
  • Responsible for oversight and monitoring the performance of the contractor, ensuring that the contractor adheres to the terms of the contract, project specifications, and timelines.
  • Maintain consistent communication with execution contractor, Topside Manager, Project Manager and other stakeholders, relaying updates, challenges, and key decisions on construction and hook-up activities.
  • Review and make recommendations to Topside Manager and Project Manager on execution contractor suggestions, changes in scope or alterations of timelines.
  • Verification of execution contractor works to ensure quality meets the project's specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure that contractual obligations regarding liabilities, insurances, and indemnities are clearly defined and adhered to by the execution contractor.
  • Identifies and utilises Subject Matter Experts as required for technical queries, issues or independent verification, as required.
  • Manage and approve any change orders or modifications related to construction and hook-up activities, ensuring they align with project objectives and budget considerations.
  • Close liaison with Topside Manager, Topside Engineering Manager and MC&C Specialist on project activities, with particular attention during project transitional phases, including commencement of site work, mechanical completion and start-up.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards during the construction and hook-up process. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Document all construction and hook-up activities and maintain comprehensive records. Regularly report on progress and any issues to the Topsides Manager and other stakeholders
  • Regularly report on construction and hook-up status, including any changes or issues that may impact project deadlines or budgets, to the Topside Manager, Project Manager and other stakeholders.

 

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: 

  • Minimum: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural or Mechanical), Construction Management or other relevant fields. Relevant trade certificate combined with professional experience may also be considered.
  • Desirable: Masters degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or other related field.
  • Extensive experience in construction and commissioning management, with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale projects.
  • Expertise in the installation and hookup processes, including connecting equipment, piping systems, and other infrastructure components in offshore or marine environments.
  • Familiarity with the technical aspects of EPC and EPCM, including FEED projects, including familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment relevant to the construction of oil and gas facilities and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, software and methodologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with any industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Thorough understanding of safety protocols, especially in high-risk environments like offshore platforms and marine environments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.

Details about the role: 

Location:

  • 1st week in Copenhagen Denmark at client offices (4 days)
  • 2nd week at FEED Contractor 1 Office - Norway (3 to 4 days)
  • 3rd week at FEED Contractor 2 Office - UK (3 to 4 days)

 

Contract type: Permanent 2 yr fixed term contract

Experience level: Minimum 5+ years
