Power Purchase Agreement Modeller

Leap29 are currently assisting a renewable energy developer that is active in several European countries. They are a well-funded start-up company that offer a generous package for the right candidate.

This role will focus on modeling energy markets to anticipate future trends as well as modeling renewable projects complex models for development and M&A purposes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously update energy price models and future power curves for each market in which my client operates, particularly in the context of renewable energy generation from solar and wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Take the lead in implementing optimization techniques to address intricate real-world challenges within these models.
• Engage in market research, utilizing data from Power Exchanges and conducting in-depth analysis to pinpoint emerging market trends.
• Spearhead the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of financial models for operational solar and wind farms, while seamlessly integrating BESS systems to evaluate the project rights, EPC services, and Sell Side M&A models.
• Prepare concise notes and reports regarding Power & Renewables price markets for the management team.
• Collaborate closely with the Finance department throughout the M&A process and with the Development team in project development to ensure the smooth organization of all requisite information.

Requirements

• 3 years’ Professional experience in the renewable energy sector
• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information.
• Knowledge of and interest in energy markets,
• Knowledge of one programming language would be a plus.
• Fluency in English
• Understanding of financial concepts and financial modelling techniques
• The ability to work in cross-border teams
• Strong interpersonal skills, and a great team player
