Design Manager – New South Wales, Australia – Permanent Role

Location:               Macquarie Park, New South Wales, Australia

Contract:               Permanent

The Company

A Biopharmaceutical Engineering Organization focused on the development of robust, innovative and at times disruptive solutions in a cross. The Company have developed a process which enables countries to turn human plasma into lifesaving hyperimmune products.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Design Manager you will be responsible for looking after teams of designers to make sure projects are produced on time to a high specification.

  • You will be the Design subject matter expert and oversee the piping design department to ensure best practice design considerations which are integral to the design development.
  • Foster a highly productive working relationship with internal stakeholders, external agencies the design fraternity and educationists, and actively contribute to shared knowledge and expertise to build corporate knowledge and commitment towards achieving the departments property and facilities initiatives.
  • Providing expert advice that facilitates the development of design specifications for new forms of facilities including considerations of both asset and non-asset solutions.
  • Managing and undertaking research and make recommendations that support the delivery of design excellence, value for money, sustainability, adaptability and flexibility.
  • Providing timely, accurate and customer-focused advice in response to requests for information and working with clients to ensure that their expectations are met.
  • Ensuring all MEP design drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality, and are easy to decipher by the construction team and are in keeping with USFDA/EUEMA and PICs GMP requirements.
  • Avoiding design errors and clashes during detail design and construction issue drawings to reduce financial risk during construction
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of the design process and ensuring designs are available to those who need them, at the appropriate time.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in a science related or biomedical field is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 Years of relevant experience in design management is required
  • Minimum 10-15 yearsexperience in pharma, medical devices, in a piping design facility and equipment layout and 3D Cad supervisory role.
  • Possess good understanding of the technical pharmaceutical knowledge, GMP & regulatory, legal and commercial aspects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, skilled user of a variety of program management tools and software i.e., Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge AutoCad and Plant 3D, Solid Works, and other BIM models to ensure a fully coordinated 3D plant model of the operational facility.
