Senior Software Test Engineer is required for multi-award-winning fleet, leasing, hire, and driver management software. As a certified Microsoft Gold® development partner, my client uses the latest technology to provide customers with greater integration, control, and automation.

Reporting into one of the Domain Team Managers, Software Testers are responsible for the testing and quality assurance of the range of software products. Their extensive product knowledge makes them a point of reference for other team members. To become a key member of the Development team you will need to have strong testing skills, be hard working and be able to fit in well with an established team.

The role is office / home based, allowing you to choose the environment that works best.

Responsibilities:

• To understand the industry requirements of the customer base and develop a thorough understanding of how those requirements are met by the product range.
• To test modifications to the products to ensure they are fit for purpose, consistent, and compliant with published standards and guidelines. You will ensure modifications are fully regression testable and delivered on schedule.
• To complete testing in line with agreed timeframes and by following the documented business processes using the appropriate test management and automation tools.
• Promote and advocate best practices within the team and throughout the business.
• Translate functional requirements and specifications into documented test plans, cases and steps.
• Rigorously planning, writing, and executing test scripts.
• Creation and maintenance of test data, tools, and scripts.
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing, including exploratory testing.
• Perform manual regression testing.
• Identifying issues, risks and dependencies escalating and managing where appropriate.
• Logging and retesting of issues.
• Continually update skills by learning new technologies relevant to the role.
• Evaluate testing tools.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Commercial experience testing client server (Window) and Web applications (ideally in a .net-based environment).
• Practical and systematic approach to testing.

Desirable:

• Experience with test automation frameworks, including code-based automation.
• Exposure to Microsoft Test Manager.
• Ability to write simple SQL scripts to create and manipulate data.
